To set up an above ground swimming pool correctly you ll have to make sure that the surface is completely flat regardless of the type of pool or the size of the space you re going to use. The standard depth of sand that should be used under an aboveground pool s floor is 2 inches. Before putting in an above ground pool prepare the area by ensuring that the ground is level and removing the grass with a sod remover. Just install these 4 6 inches outside the circle you marked. If the ground is uneven the pool will slope. If there is less to erode then any problems you have will be smaller.

Just 1 2 1 of sand is more than enough to smooth out the small divots and give you a nice soft surface beneath the pool. Then start constructing your pool beginning with the bottom ring.
